The tape knows first

🚀 Surge: OKTA +3.09% in 15 min
9.0x volume · $133.26 · +2.03% day · Cyber
3:55 PM ET

Tuesday, Aug 26, 3:55 PM ET: five minutes before the close, OKTA started trading nine times its normal volume with earnings due after the bell. No headline anywhere. The surge engine pushed it to members' phones at $133.26 while the market was still open. After hours: earnings landed and OKTA traded above $160, twenty percent past the alert.

Watching sectors alone showed nothing. The volume knew something was coming, and members' phones did too.

🚀 Surge: NVDA +1.02% in 15m
3.1x volume · $226.98 · +8.26% today · Rack · new HOD
11:00 AM ET

Thursday, Aug 27, 11:00 AM ET: the morning after NVDA's earnings, with the whole market watching the same name, the engine flagged the exact minute momentum resumed on 3x volume at a new high of day, $226.98. 12:00 PM ET: NVDA took out its pre-market high, one hour after the ping, and traded in the $228s from there.

The most watched name in the market, timestamped anyway. Two receipts in seven trading sessions.

🚀 Surge: DXYZ +3.6% in 15 min
4.9x volume · +1.6% day · Space
2:05 PM ET

Wednesday, Aug 20, 2:05 PM ET: that alert hit members' phones. Worth knowing: the Space sector itself was deep red all afternoon, one green name out of ten. DXYZ was that one name, accelerating against its whole basket on nearly 5x normal volume. Sector-level watching alone would have shown nothing. The surge layer exists for exactly this. 3:22 PM ET: Bloomberg reports Anthropic, a top DXYZ holding, expects a record IPO and is preparing to file within weeks.

The tape moved 77 minutes before the news. Surge alerts fire on price acceleration confirmed by unusual volume: no news feeds, no sentiment models, just the tape. We saw money moving and said so in real time. The why arrived an hour later, with a byline.

RARE EARTH Fri Aug 7 · close
+8.5%
#1 of 30 · every name green

Friday, Aug 7: Rare Earth topped the Sector Pulse board, up 8.5% with every name in the basket green. Saturday, Aug 8: a $3 billion federal critical-minerals investment hit the news.

We didn't predict anything. That's the point: the grid showed where money was moving a day before the headline explained why. Rotation usually shows up in the tape first. You just need to be watching it.

What we build

Sector tiles with breadth and median stats

Rotation analytics

Sector baskets grouped by how names actually trade, with breadth, rank memory, a 10-day historical grid, and a permanent daily record behind them that nobody can backfill.

Overnight rotation · 20/30 green
↑ Solar #28→#1 · Cloud #27→#2 · Nuclear #25→#3

Real-time alerts

Push notifications when the tape changes: rotation digests, volume surges, and movers ranked before the open. During market hours a new name breaks into the top movers about every 15 minutes. Checking hourly misses most of them.

Custom trading dashboard: macro tape, volatility regime engine, and live catalysts

Trading dashboards

Custom market-data cockpits: signals, scanners, portfolio tooling, and the plumbing that keeps them live all session. Built for our own desk first; private by design.

About

Apex Infra LLC is an independent software company based in Austin, Texas, founded and run by real traders. Everything we ship starts as a tool we needed at our own desk, then gets built in public, shaped daily by the community that uses it.

Sector Pulse, our flagship, is free to use. Pro is the alert layer and the full board, open now to a limited founding cohort. The latest ships came straight from member requests: a 10-day historical grid for larger timeframe analysis with rank paths and divergence tags, sector climbers by name, and a Sector API that serves the ranks, rosters, and daily history programmatically.
